The 21 years old Haylie Hogge has a big passion for acting and loves to spend time with her baby cousins, family and friends. Since Haylie was little, she always dreamed of being on tv, in the movies or to be a Disney Channel star! Her dream role is to be a lead or supporting character in any Horror or thriller movie. In this interview Haylie talks about acting, being a famous TikTok star and experiences with auditions.

When did you decided you want to become an actor?

When I was little I always wanted to be an actor. But about 1 year ago in september of 2020, I really wanted to start working towards that as a career. Not for the money but because I want to be an inspiration. I was going through a lot when it came to life. So acting to me was a way to escape at first. I met my coach on TikTok and when I found out she did classes, I started taking them. Since then I’ve grown on Instagram, and TikTok, and I’ve grown as an actor.

What's so fun about acting?.

What’s fun is the experience and meeting people along the way. You’ll make lifelong friends whether you expect to or not. Learning new things and just being you is what acting is all about. Being an actor can be tough but it can also be amazing. One of the things I love about what I do, is the amazing friends and people I meet along the way. I have 7 amazing people in my life that I met through acting classes who are there to support me and teach me. And I couldn’t be more grateful.

Another thing I love is the experience, and being an inspiration to kids younger than me. Acting is all about experience, learning and growing, my acting coach always says “perfect actors don’t exist, everyone has something to learn.” That all sounds amazing I bet, but acting has hard times, auditions, having to get up and leave your family for filming last minute, self tapes, memorizing script after script. It’s tough, but if this is something you love. Do it! And if you push through I promise it gets better

Haylie has a own TikTok account with 33.000 FOLLOWERS! She makes short acting video's and works sometimes together with her acting coach: Eliana Gehn, who is also an actress.

Do you have someone who inspires you?

I do have someone who inspires me to be the person I am today. That person is my acting coach/mentor/friend Eliana Ghen. She’s supported me from the beginning. She’s an amazing actress, has the kindest heart, always knows what is best for me and wants me to always do my best, she has stuck with me for 9 months even on days I’m a brat. She’s the person who I look up to most. I know I can’t depend on her 24/7 but I also know that if I need her she’ll be there. I wouldn’t change her, or change who she is as a person.

What kind of acting video's do you make on TikTok?

I am actor on TikTok as well. I have 33 thousand followers, and all of them are amazing supporters. I post acting POV’s. Which is basically from the person watching a point of you. Makes you feel like you’re really there acting with me. I didn’t start these acting POV’s, my friends Eliana Then and Chris Barnett actually made a lot of the acting trends blow up on TikTok. So I followed in their footsteps. So far it’s doing really good for me. I have people tell me what they like to see and I film and post. It’s amazing the support I have.

How are your experiences with auditions?

My experiences with auditions are always different, I can’t tell you how many self tape auditions I’ve had that I’ve failed, and how many I’ve had that have gone great. I prefer in person auditions because I can just go and be me, for some reason when I’m self taping I feel like it has to be perfect. Which isn’t true, my acting coach always tells me “there’s not ever going to be a perfect tape.” Plus perfect is boring.

What do you want to achieve in your life?

This question I really had to think about. I would say the main thing I want to achieve in life is being able to having self love. I struggle with that a lot and self love is something everyone needs to have. Being able to love yourself is everything and will change your life. In my acting career though, I really just want to be an inspiration, I want to leave the world knowing I made an impact on peoples lives and that they have dreams and ambitions that they will put into action to make true.

Do you have any tips for beginning actors?

The only tip I can really say for beginners is DO ACTING CLASSES! GET TRAINING! So many actors and actresses don’t ever get training, which is fine. But if you want to grow and learn and become the actor you want to be, find an acting coach like I did. Eliana Ghen is my coach, but it doesn’t have to be her. The other thing I can say is always have a resume, reel and headshot. Those are the 3 things that will make you stand out as an actor.

I feel we will see a lot more of Haylie and her acting skills in the future. For now you can watch her acting videos on her Socials: https://beacons.ai/hayliehogge/
